A town rich in historic buildings, cultural heritage, boasting many riverside walks and green areas.
Haverfordwest is the most populous urban area in Pembrokeshire and forms, as a result of its position at the tidal limit of the western Cleddau river, an important road network hub between other towns in Pembrokeshire such as Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard and St David's.

  Fishguard Town
A typical fishing village with a short tidal quay. Located near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Ideal holiday destinations. The town is the main shopping town of North Pembrokeshire with a busy Thursday market in the Town Hall.

  Milford Haven
Situated on the north side of the Milford Haven Waterway, a natural harbour used as a port since the Middle Ages.

Milford Haven Port Authority is responsible for the biggest port in Wales, and the third largest in the UK.
  Narberth
Founded around a Welsh court, later a Norman stronghold on the Landsker Line. It became the headquarters of the hundred of Narberth. The town of narberth plays a high-profile role in Welsh mythology as the chief palace of Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed, and a key setting in both the first and third branches of the Mabinogion. Near to Narberth is Blackpool Mill [ highest tidal reach of the River Cleddau ].

  Pembroke Dock
  Saundersfoot   -   Tourist Board Saundersfoot
Saundersfoot provides easy access to the spectacular coastline of Pembrokeshire. There are large sandy beaches and a harbour in the village so it is easy to relax or enjoy watersports or fishing. Boat trips are run from the harbour for fishing and viewing the marine wildlife and coastline. Saundersfoot is also superbly located for access to Tenby and St. Davids for day trips.

  Tenby   -   walled seaside town, lying on Carmarthen Bay
With its miles of European Blue Flag winning beaches, picturesque working harbour and rich heritage, Tenby continued to be known throughout the world as a fashionable and fun seaside resort.
From Tenby's harbour boats sail to the offshore monastic Caldey Island, while St Catherine's Island is linked to the town at low tide. The town is served by Tenby railway station. See Tenby Town Council.

The small village is known for its beach, Broad Haven South and the Stackpole Estate lily ponds.  
  Caldey Island   -   just offshore from Tenby South Beach
Owned by The Cistercian order and has an active monastery. There is a guesthouse or a self catering cottage accommodation on the island for retreats.
  Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo 
Located near Tenby in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside, Folly Farm offers affordable fun days out for the whole family with four family entertainment zones: a farmyard, a zoo, Europe's largest undercover vintage funfair, and an 'adventure play' area.
  Grassholm National Nature Reserve [ Grassholm Island ]
Westernmost point in Wales. Known for its huge colony of gannets. Third most important site for these birds in the world, after two sites in Scotland; St Kilda and Bass Rock. Thousand Islands Expeditions run guided trips to Grassholm, from St Justinains. See RSPB [ Royal society for the protection of birds ]. The island has been identified with Gwales, an island featured in the Mabinogion.
  Haverfordwest Castle

A number of paintings and prints relating to Haverfordwest or painted by artists with local connections is on display, including reproductions of works by Augustus John and a portrait of his sister Gwen.
The people of Haverfordwest, both past and present, are represented throughout the museum in numerous photographs and artworks.

Manor House Wildlife Park enables visitors to interact with the animals, including Zebras, Emu's and Wallabies as well as many different types of monkey.
  Manorbier castle [ 5m SW of Tenby ]
Located a few miles off the A4139 on the very narrow B4585. The drive to the village of Manorbier takes you through some of the most scenic parts of Pembrokeshire, and winds dramatically along leafy hedged lanes towards the coast.

  Stackpole estate [ within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park ]
The Stackpole Estate contains the unspoilt beaches of Barafundle and Broad Haven South, the 100 acres (0 .40 km2) of lily ponds are home to otters, fish, Swans, ducks and many other wildlife species. From the cliff tops and beaches, bottlenose dolphins and basking sharks can sometimes be seen along with many different varieties of sea birds such as kittiwakes. See National Trust and/or Wikipedia.

  Sir John Perrot [ c.1530-1592 ]   -   Mayor of Haverfordwest three times
 a great Tudor magnate, Lord Deputy of Ireland and owner of Carew and Laugharne Castles. He was born at Haroldston. In 1580 he made a famous bequest to the Haverfordwest Corporation and so founded the charity, which still bears his name to this day. See Wikipedia
  Admiral John Lort Stokes [ 1811-1885 ]
Travelled on HMS Beagle with Charles Darwin in the early 1830s. He had many adventures and he recorded them in his two volumes of memoirs. He died at Scotchwells House in 1885. See Wikipedia.
