Witlshire - Visit Wiltshire The county of Wiltshire begins a short distance from the outskirts of Bristol. Pass through Bitton, where the
Avon Valley Steam Railway offers a delightful nostalgic journey through the river valley. Travel on to Dyrham,
with its 17th century mansion. The road to the east then passes through rolling countryside to the neolithic monument of Silbury Hill, some 4000 years old and whose purpose remains a mystery to this day.

Wiltshire's eight White Horses can be found in Kennet. The landscape is littered with sarsen stones and burial mounds, adding to the sense of mystery, myth and legend that makes the area so unique.
Over half of the district has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and nature reserves.
