The term "Lycia" is often found in travel brochures to advertise the area west of Antalya. In Turkey itself, the term is not really common.
  North Aegean coast
The northern Aegean coastal region with its pine forests and sleepy fishing villages and harbor towns offer vacationers a holiday away from the tourist crowds of the southern Aegean and the Mediterranean. The National Park Kaz Dadi you can live close to the Mediterranean nature. A visit to Pergamon, one of the cultural centers of the ancient world, is a culture you 'have to'. A visit to Ephesus in the southern Aegean area is very worthwhile. In the once thriving commercial city, the Temple of Artemis was built, one of the seven world wonders.
  South Aegean Coast
The southern Aegean coast region is one of the sunniest areas of Turkey. The flora and fauna is undoubtedly Mediterranean. The coastal area is an ancient cultural region, partially inhabited more than 3000 years. The entire coast of Izmir to Bodrum belongs, with its pine forests, olive groves and lined with rocky coves, to the most beautiful regions of Turkey.

Troy was once the capital of a great empire. Immortalized by Homer.

  Lycian cities [Mediterranean region]
West of Antalya, located high in the mountains, the ruins of the Lycian cities Arikanda and Termessos and are surrounded by beautiful mountains.

The famous ancient cities of Perge, Aspendos and Side are located in the coastal plain east of Antalya [called Pamphylia in ancient times].

Pergamon shone like a cultural, scientific and artistic Mecca.
