The Spanish island Formentera in the Mediterranean, 100 km from the coast of Valencia [ Costa Blanca ].
Formentera is the smallest and most southerly of the Balearic Archipelago. It is 19 km long and lies three nautical miles south of Ibiza.
Formentera has 69 km of coastline, full of beaches and cliffs of great beauty. It is a mostly flat island, with its maximum height of 192 meters (Mola). The vegetation, Mediterranean, combines dune areas with pine, juniper and scrub.
North of the island are several uninhabited islands, the most important of which are Espalmador [ about 240 ha ] and Espardell [ 60 ha ].

San Francisco de Formentera
San Francisco Javier is the capital and main town of Formentera with town hall and the main services on the island.
The community consists of Sant Francesc de Formentera, Sant Ferran de Ses Roques, El Pilar de la Mola, Es Caló de Sant Agustí, and Es Pujols La Savina.

Can Blai Roman castellum
It has a rectangular floor plan with towers at the corners and at the access gate – five in all. It stands at km
10 of the road between La Savina and La Mola and on a high site, showing its inhabitants' interest in controlling the whole coast.
Cana Costa Megalithic site
This dates from between 2000 and 1600 BC. It is an important site showing human presence on the island at
a very early period. It is well constructed and consists of a burial chamber, an access passage and an exterior structure of concentric forts.
Cap de Barberia megalithic settlement
The remains here consist of 3 different sites that have provided important, finds like pottery, bones and a piece of bronze showing that the island was inhabited from the year 2,000 BC onwards.
