A relaxed  3.6 km stretch of coastal walk adorned with Mediterranean flora, geological features and the ancient millstone quarry.  There are also many beautiful villas and gardens built between 1898 and 1927.
Between the mountains and the sea you will find several panoramic footpaths created by the National Forest Office. They blend beautifully into the local scenery  because the materials used to make them have been taken from the area itself. The most magnificent scenery can be viewed from these footpaths.

The Mont Ventoux is the highest point of Provence, with its 1.912 meters. It is a remarkable natural site with huge varieties of vegetal and animal species. Is has been classified "Réserve de Biosphère" by the U.N.E.S.C.O.
Located near Carpentras, the Mont Ventoux is 25 km long and 15km wide. It overlooks a plain situated at more or less 100 to 300 meters. It stands out from the other mountains and encounters important climatic effects: major variations of temperature that go from heatwaves to -30°C. During the summer, scorchers can be followed by snowstorms. The wind can reach 250 km/h, coming from all directions.

Overlooking the city and the Rhône river, the Rocher des Doms presents an exceptional set of monuments including the Saint Bénezet Bridge, (the famous « Pont d'Avignon »), the Ramparts, the Petit Palais, the Cathedral and the impressive walls of the Popes' Palace flanked by four mighty towers.   Wine from the Provence

  Chateauneuf du Pape   -   Wine
Wine cultivation, already known to the Gauls, was widely developed by the Romans. Monks were the first to clear the land and cultivate these vineyards and Bishops were instrumental in extending vine cultivation. In 1157, in keeping with Roman tradition, Geoffrey, the Bishop of Avignon, planted vines and personally managed his own estate and was most certainly the owner of a vineyard located in his fief in Châteauneuf.
