 Ferries in Greece
The main Aegean route runs from Rhodes - Kos - Kalymnos - Leros - Lipsi - Patmos with several ferries each day. There are also less frequent boats to Syros, Samos, Thessaloniki, Ikaria, Fourni, Amorgos, Kastellorizo, Astypalea, Nisyros, Telos, Leros, Mykonos, Paros, Agathonisi and Symi throughout the summer.

The Kos Town buses (DEAS) run routes around the town. KTEL buses take you everywhere else. Buses are frequent to the main resorts.

Kos is mostly flat and ideal for cycling.

The town has a 14th century fortress at the entrance to its harbor, erected in 1315 by The Knights of Saint John of Rhodes.

 South coast Kos  -  the most popular on the island with endless stretches of sandy beach
The water is usually much calmer than the north but much colder too. Resorts : Agios Stefanos, Kamari, Kardamena, Kefalos.

 Antimahia  -  1 km from the airport and 3 km from the sea side community of Mastihari
In ancient times a sanctuary to Hercules was built here to commemorate his visit to the island and his wrestling match with Antagoras.
 Asfendiou  -  Zia  -  located on the side of the mountain Dikios
Included in this rural community are the villages of Asomatos, Lagoudi, St.Dimitrios, Tigaki, Zia and Zipari. Near Tigaki there is a salt valley.
 Kardamena  -  seaside village
To the north a castle on the hillside, which was inhabited by the Christians. In ancient times this was the region of Alasarma.
 Kefalos  -  built on an embankment and lies one kilometer distant from Kamari on the coast
Kefalos is one of the most beautiful beaches of the island [ sandy with crystal clear waters ].

The harbor accommodate small ferry boats which run frequently back and forth to the neighboring island of Kalymnos.
