Largest town in the county, lying on the River Maun. Mansfield is a part of the Mansfield Urban Area. The town is surrounded by a pocket of steep hills within the Maun Valley.

Clumber Park, just south of Worksop is a country park owned by the National Trust and is open to the public. See Bassetlaw District Council.
Clumber Park
The park comprises 1,500 hectares (3,800 acres), including peaceful woods, open heath and rolling farmland,
with a superb serpentine lake at its heart and the longest avenue of lime trees in Europe. Part of Nottinghamshire's famed 'Dukeries', Clumber was formerly home to the Dukes of Newcastle.
Chesterfield Canal Trust
The Chesterfield Canal is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful and varied waterways in England. It
runs for 46 miles from the River Trent to the middle of Chesterfield, linking Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire
and Derbyshire. Every yard of the canal can be walked on the towpath known as The Cuckoo Way.
It goes through tranquil countryside where scarcely a house can be seen; has some of the earliest staircase
locks ever built (240 years ago); is hugely popular with walkers; has some of the best canal fishing in the country.
