The town of Kuşadası is located on Turkey's Aegean coast and the center of the seaside district of the same name in Aydın Province.

Kusadasi is a port of call for cruise ships. The port is linked by a six-lane highway to İzmir's Adnan Menderes Airport.

Dilek Yarımada is shaped by Samsun Mountains' continuation to the Aegean Sea and its geological structure is made up of Palaeozoic shists, Mesozoic limestones, marble and Neo-gene sedimentary masses. Yarımada has interesting coastal features with its sandy, clayey and high lying beaches.

The caravanserai is a two story structure with a court yard constructed by Öküz Mehmed Pahsa for the purpose of sea trading.

In 2000 B.C a small group of Legel's from Kayra and Lydians had settled in this area from Central Anatolia.

The peninsula at the end of the bay, has a castle and swimming beaches
  Yılancı Burnu   -   a second peninsula beyond Güvercin Ada
Possibly the location of the original settlement of Neopolis. Some walls are visible. There are beaches and beach clubs here.

  Kurşunlu Monastery   -   is situated behind the hill in Davutlar
The monatry is approximately 600 m above sea level and has a bird's eye view of the gulf. The area which saw heavy Christian migration in 800's is an excellent sample of Byzantine architecture.
  Panionium   -   25 km (16 mi) south of Kuşadası
Once the central meeting place of the Ionian League. The ruins are in poor condition and their authenticity is disputed.
  Pygale   -   Once the refuge of Agamemnon. Not yet excavated.
Several aqua-parks with wave-pools, white-water slides are located near the town.

History

Kuşadası is thought to have been founded by the Ionians of Neopolis connected to Ephesus in a place called Yılancı Burnu situated close to the city.
