Travelling to Norrland.

Norrland is the northern part of Sweden, consisting of nine provinces : Norrland consists of Ångermanland, Gästrikland, Hälsingland, Härjedalen, Jämtland, Lapland, Medelpad, Norrbotten, en Västerbotten.

Jämtland and Härjedalen belonged to Norway until 1645, and are thus not part of the historical Norrland.

In Norrland, west of Kiruna, you can find the highest point of Sweden : Kebnekaise Mountain.

Jukkasjarvi is located 200km north of the Arctic Circle, in the heart of Swedish Lapland, a region inhabited by the Sami. The village has a Lapp museum and picturesque church.
