Malaga   -   Ayuntamiento de Málaga   -   Malaga Turismo
Malaga is the major coastal city of Andalucia and is a genuine and typical Andaluz city with a gritty individualism untouched by tourism and, to a large extent, the passage of time.

  Algarrobo
  Benahavís
  Benalmádena Costa
Sprawling midway between Malaga and Torremolinos the municipality of Benalmádena is divided into three distinct parts, Benalmadena Pueblo, Benalmadena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel. It's where actor Antonio Banderas comes from. Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths and Arabs all passed left their mark on the area, the Romans and Moors in particular having a noticeable effect on its architecture. The Catholic Kings, Ferdinand and Isabel, also established a defence base there.
  Casares
  Estepona
Fuengirola   -   Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola   -   in the heart of the Costa del Sol
Its semi-tropical climate and its eight kilometres of wonderful and well cared for beaches of fine sand, with all the services and bordered by a magnificent Promenade, make this a place that is both an obligatory place to stay and the starting point for a large variety of excursions and for the practice of all types of tourism: Historical-cultural, Active, Rural, Nature, etc.
Fuengirola offers everything from visits to the Zoo - the only one on the whole Andalusian coast-, to tours of the city on the tourist train, from the animated and varied entertainment areas of night time Fuengirola to romantic rides in horse-drawn carriages.
The Casa de la Cultura offers visitors and residents year-round a long list of cultural and leisure activities that are characterised by their variety and quality. Exhibitions, concerts, plays and musicals, puppet shows, dance….
  Gibraltar   -   Government of Gibraltar
In the ancient times, right through the age of empires and in the global conflicts of our own century, Gibraltar has stood guard over the western Mediterranean, its unique position making it the focus of a continuous struggle for power. This spectacular rock monolith, covering a land area of about six square kilometres, is situated at the southern tip of Spain overlooking the strait to Africa. It is known as the Meeting Place of Continents.

  Mijas Costa
  Nerja
Nerja is on the seashore some 50 kilometres from Malaga on the N340 coastal highway, and marks the eastern tip of Malaga's Costa del Sol. Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing
  Ojén
  Puerto Cabo Pino
  Puerto Banus
  Puerto Duquesa
  Punta de la Chullera
  Rincon de la Victoria
Situated just 12km east of Malaga, it makes a convenient base for those who work in the city but prefer sea breezes and beaches, and the relative tranquillity of an overgrown fishing village. It is also a popular place for the Spanish to "veranear" (spend the summer months) and many families have their second home here. The municipality of Rincon includes the neighbouring fishing village of La Cala and the pretty inland village of Benagalbon.
  San Pedro de Alcantara
  Sotogrande
Torremolinos   -   Ayuntamiento de Torremolinos [ Town Hall ]
Torremolinos is located 7km west of Málaga airport and was the first Costa del Sol resort to be developed back in the early sixties

History of Andalusia

  Andalusia's History   -   Hispania Baetica
In Hispania, which in Greek is called Iberia, there were three Imperial Roman provinces, Hispania Baetica in the south, Lusitania, corresponding to modern Portugal, in the west, and Hispania Tarraconensis in the north and northeast. Baetica was renamed by the Moors in the 8th century, and their name "Andalucia" ("land of the Vandals" is just one of the possible etymologies) has remained...
