Frisian Maritime Museum
The Frisian Maritime Museum and Sneek Museum of Antiquities are full of memories of Frisian shipbuilding
industry and maritime and inland shipping. These museums are situated in a row of historic houses between
old canals. In 32 rooms exhibiting more than 15,000 (!) objects you can admire models of ships, paintings,
tools, curiosities, maritime ornaments and souvenirs. And let us not forget the original boats, the ice-hall, the ship's cabin, the deck-house and a special collection of silver.

The Sneekweek is biggest sailing event on European inland waters. Sailing competitions are held in all
recognised classes on the Sneekermeer. While these competitions are underway all kinds of festivities take
place on the 'Starteiland' and in the centre of Sneek. Convivial terraces, artists, music, markets and fun fairs create a festive atmosphere.
