The Battle of Cambrai (November 20 - December 3, 1917) was a British campaign of World War I. Noted for the first successful use of tanks, the British attack ended as another failure.
  Eperlecques Bunker   -   see Le Blockhaus
Located in a wood, this bunker is enormous : 1 hectare and 130,000 tons of concrete, 22 meters high. Planned as the first launch base for ballistic rockets, this bunker was intended to serve as a factory for the production of liquid oxygen fuel and the assembly of the V2 rocket. This visit based on a laser audio-guiding and a video, will take you through the history and technology of those unforgettable years.

History and Remembrance centre in the Nord – Pas-de-Calais, la Coupole is 5 km away from Saint-Omer.
This gigantic underground V2 rocket launch pad (the biggest ever built) is equipped with the latest scenographic and audiovisual aids (photos, documentaries, models etc…).
