KLM offers three service concepts for flights within Europe: Base, Economy and Select. The new structure replaces the previous Business and Economy classes. Choosing the most suitable KLM ticket is now that much easier and more in tune with your individual travel needs. The products of KLM cityhopper and other partners can deviate from what is indicated here.

 BASE: competitive
Base offers the most competitive fares and is suited for trips involving a stay of at least several days. Basic in-flight service is offered (soft drinks and a sandwich). Travel dates may not be changed and tickets must be booked at least 3 days before departure. The lowest-priced fares require advance purchase – the earlier you book, the greater the chances of availability.

 ECONOMY: flexible
Economy offers the same in-flight service as Base with greater flexibility to revise your travel plans. These fares require a minimum one-night stay. Tickets must be booked several days before departure and may be changed or cancelled for a fee. The lowest Economy fares must be booked in advance and, again, the earlier you book, the greater the availability of the lowest-priced tickets.

 SELECT: premium
Select fares offer fully flexible tickets, double Flying Blue Miles and many added advantages, both on the ground and in the air. Airport services feature dedicated check-in, increased baggage allowance, lounge access and priority boarding and deplaning. Accelerated border passage within Schengen countries are also offered at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and certain other European airports. In-flight, Select passengers enjoy expanded food service, free alcoholic beverages and a selection of international newspapers. Seating provides additional legroom with an average seat pitch of 33 inch. During their trip, Select passengers enjoy the greatest possible flexibility. The outgoing and return flight can be made on the same day and the travel date can be changed any number of times at no charge. Select also offers the possibility of canceling a ticket at no charge. Select is available until the day of departure. Once again: the earlier the booking is made the greater the availability of the lowest-priced tickets.
