Grafton - Its county seat is Haverhill
Grafton County is heavily rural. About half of its total area is in the White Mountain National Forest. Squam Lake, featured in the film On Golden Pond, and the Old Man of the Mountain landmark are located here, as are
Dartmouth College and the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest [ see Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study]. Many
of the 4,000-foot mountains of New Hampshire are within the county. The Appalachian Trail passes through parts of at least ten towns in the county.

Rockingham - Rockingham County
Rockingham County was home to New Hampshire's first European settlements, Pannaway and Strawberry
Banke (Portsmouth). In 1623, only three years after the landing of the pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts,
David Thomson first settled New Hampshire at Odiorne Point in what is now known as the Town of Rye. By
the mid 1600s, the county included three of the four original New Hampshire towns and was the center for
business, trade and government for the entire state. The state capital was located in Portsmouth first, then
later moved to Exeter and other towns. In 1808 the capital finally settled to it's current location in Concord.
Strafford - Strafford County
Strafford County was one of the five original counties identified for New Hampshire in 1769.

Sullivan - Sullivan County
Sullivan County is located in the West Central area of New Hampshire and was named after Brigadier General John Sullivan (1740-1795), a Revolutionary War hero.

According to historian Jeremy Belknap, the area was called "Wecohamet" by native Abenaki Indians. The first
known European to explore the region was Martin Pring from Bristol, England in 1603. Settled in 1623 as
"Hilton's Point" by brothers William and Edward Hilton, Dover is the oldest permanent settlement in New Hampshire, and the seventh oldest in the United States.
Franklin - City of Franklin - located in Merrimack County
Keene - City of Keene
The town is well known for holding the Guinness Book of World Records record for most lit jack-o'-lanterns at
one time and place. Each year the town attempts to surpass its own record during the Pumpkin Fest held in late October.
Laconia - City of Laconia -
Laconia, situated near Lake Winnipesaukee, includes the villages of Lakeport and Weirs Beach. Each June,
the city hosts Laconia Motorcycle Week, one of the country's largest rallies, and each winter, the Laconia World Championship Sled Dog Derby.
Lebanon - City of Lebanon
Lebanon is located in western New Hampshire, south of Hanover, near the Connecticut River. It is the home
to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Medical School, together comprising the largest medical facility between Boston, Massachusetts and Burlington, Vermont.

Nashua - City of Nashua
Nashua is the second largest city in New Hampshire and is the center of a diverse and dynamic region of
more than 175,000 people. It is endowed with urban amenities as well as the charm of the traditional New
England landscape. The combination of an excellent quality of life and proximity to Boston, the seacoast, and the White Mountains makes Nashua an attractive growth center for New England.
The city is bordered on the east by the Merrimack River, across which lies the town of Hudson, New Hampshire. To the north is Merrimack, New Hampshire, west is Hollis, New Hampshire, and south is
Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. The city is roughly bisected by the Nashua River.
As with much of New England, the weather in this city varies greatly throughout the year. Harsh winters
often batter the area while the summers can be scorching; it is a four-season area.

the Rockywold/Deephaven Camps in Holderness NH. The camps are located on the shores of Squam Lake,
and have the land and facilities available to present such a program. Currently, the first 115 applications are accepted, however many more apply than can be accommodated.

theater in the Upper Connecticut River Valley. Since its dedication in 1924, the Opera House has served as a venue for vaudeville, traveling theatricals, and community events.
Seacoast Repertory Theatre, Portsmouth - premier entertainment venue on the Seacoast
Constructed in 1892, the Bow Street Theatre building originally was designed for beer and grain storage. It
was built with walls up to two feet thick for insulation from winter cold and summer heat. In 1979, a glass enclosure for the lobby area was added when the facility was renovated as a theatre.
