Witlshire - Visit Wiltshire The county of Wiltshire begins a short distance from the outskirts of Bristol. Pass through Bitton, where the
Avon Valley Steam Railway offers a delightful nostalgic journey through the river valley. Travel on to Dyrham,
with its 17th century mansion. The road to the east then passes through rolling countryside to the neolithic
monument of Silbury Hill, some 4000 years old and whose purpose remains a mystery to this day.

Situated in the heart of rural Wiltshire, the Kennet countryside has some of the most spectacular scenery in Southern England and is less than 2 hours from London.

Wiltshire's eight White Horses can be found in Kennet. The landscape is littered with sarsen stones and burial
mounds, adding to the sense of mystery, myth and legend that makes the area so unique.
Over half of the district has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and nature reserves.

Amesbury - in the River Avon valley on the southern fringes of Salisbury Plain
Amesbury has historically been considered an important river crossing area on the road from London to
Warminster and Exeter. The town is surrounded by an ancient landscape. The parish boundary of Amesbury

Bradford on Avon - town in west Wiltshire - Bradford on Avon Tourism Association The town's canal, shops, pubs and restaurants make it popular with tourist destination. The town has several
buildings dating to the 17th century, when the town grew due to the thriving wool textile industry.

Chippenham - Chippenham Town Council Chippenham is set on a prominent crossing of the River Avon and lies between the Malborough Downs to the
East, the Cotswolds to the North and West and Salisbury Plain to the South. Surrounding the town are a
number of stone-built villages, including Lacock (National Trust), Biddestone and Castle Combe. The great
house and art treasures of Longleat, Bowood, Lacock Abbey, Sheldon Manor and Corsham Court are within easy reach.
Corsham - historic market town in north west Wiltshire
Corsham is a medieval town in North West Wiltshire at the southwestern extreme of the Cotswolds, between
Bath and Chippenham. The town was historically a centre for agriculture and later the wool industry. In World
