Cheshire: Walks
Brian Conduit (Author), Gillian Crawford (Editor) If walkers come to Cheshire expecting a flat county, they are in for a surprise.
There are plenty of easy, undemanding walks that take you across a typical Cheshire landscape, invariably passing through some of the attractive villages
and by some of the county's outstanding churches or country house. But you can also experience rough and challenging moorland hikes on the edge of the
Peak District, plenty of attractive woodland walks along the sandstone ridge, or across parklands, or through the remnants of the medieval forests, a superb
choice of peaceful canal walks and, on the Wirral, even coastal - or at least estuary - walking. Inside this guide are 28 circular, graded walks all tried and
tested by seasoned walkers, ranging from extended strolls to exhilarating hikes, so there is something for everyone.

Cheshire and the Gritstone Edge: Leisure Walks for All Ages
Neil Coates (Author), Gillian Crawford (Editor) Cheshire is an ideal county to explore on foot. Rocky rivers and broad river valleys form natural routes for the
walker. A landscape of rich agricultural land, woodland and lowland heath coupled with the rugged and
spectacular scenery of the Pennine Moors. Historic Chester is featured in one of the walks and it provides a
great opportunity to explore the city's many historic delights. Canals are a familiar feature of the county, a
reminder of its proximity to the centres of the Industrial revolution in the north west. Throughout this guide the
walks take full advantage of the many and diverse features of one of the oldest county s in England.
