Swiss Drumming
The festival, where all drummers whith hearts pledged to Swiss drumming have been looking for throughout the year, is the Basler Fasnacht.
Three days of drumming and parties in an atmosphere that is not to describe. The Fasnacht is the Carnival of
Basel, where it's in a large part all about the music. Thousands of drummers and pipers are walking three
days long through the city. In addition, they are dressed in the most fantastic outfits. An important part of this
outfit is a mask which is made of a kind paper mache in which by painting a unique expression is created.
During the Basler Fasnacht mainly traditional marches are played. The groups (Cliquen) you see often
crisscross each other. During Fasnach you can two types of groups: Traditional Cliquen and Guggemusik. See Basler Fasnacht.
