 White Bay Campground  -  Jost Van Dijk Island
The White Bay campground, has bare campsites, tent campsites equipped with a bed, lamp and ice chest, and screened cabins similarly equipped. The cabin and tent platforms are nestled into a beautiful natural setting. However, the bare campsites on the bluff right above the beaches of White Bay are truly magnificent , the finest camping sites in the world. Snorkeling is good in White Bay and is even better out on the point off the White Bay Campground.

The BVI National Parks Trust currently manages 17 National Parks. These include 15 terrestrial(land) parks and one marine(sea) park, (Wreck of the Rhone). Several of the parks are off shore islands such as Great Tobago, The Dogs, and Fallen Jerusalem.

Transport / How do I travel to the Virgin islands

No direct flights from the USA, Canada, Europe or South America to our main airport - the Terrence B. Lettsome Airport (EIS) which is located on Beef Island, a cay that is linked to Tortola by the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge.

All flights must connect through another Caribbean airport such as San Juan [ Puerto Rico ], St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Kitts or St. Maarten / St. Martin.

History of the British Virgin islands

First settled by the Dutch in 1648, the British Virgin Islands were soon after (1672) annexed by the English. The economy is closely tied to the larger and more populous U.S. Virgin Islands to the west.
